The purpose of a Neighbourhood Plan is a community-led framework for guiding the future development and growth of an identified area. An essential component will inevitably be the Communities involvement throughout the whole process by taking the lead in producing part of the statutory development plan for the area.

Neighbourhood Plans relate to the use and development of land, to the benefit of those that live in the area, associated social, economic and environmental issues all to the benefit of the Community. This could include housing, new facilities, employment, heritage and transport or proposals for improving the area in general.
